Anyone who seeks healing in body, mind, or soul may receive the Sacrament of Anointing. The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament.
Anoitings are available following every weekend Mass and by appointment throughout the week. You are welcome also to ask the priest prior to any weekday of weeknight Mass.
To request anointing for someone who is unable to travel to church, whether from home, a hospital, or some other care facility, please call the priests directly. Fr. Jim can be reached at 508/340-5788. Fr. Thiago can be reached at 978/368-0366, x202. Please ask them. They very much value the opportunity to share God’s healing grace.
In the Church's Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, throughthe ministry of the priest, it is Jesus who touches the sick to heal them from sin – and sometimes even from physical ailment. His cures were signs of the arrival of the Kingdom of God. The core message of his healing tells us of his plan to conquer sin and death by his dying and rising.
In the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, we pray that, if it be God's will, the person is healed of illness. Even if there is no physical healing, the primary effect of the Sacrament is a spiritual healing by which the sick person receives the Holy Spirit's gift of peace and courage to deal with the difficulties that accompany serious illness or other of life’s circumstances.
