In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
Teens prepare to receive th Sacrament of Confirmaation beginning in the 9th Grade. the typical length of preparation is two years. Anyone who begins in later grades still fulfills the two-year requirement. Preparation includes a one-time required retreat in the second year. Proof of Baptism must be on file with the Parish prior to receiving the Sacrament. Confirmation is celebrated by the Bishop; as a result, the date is provided to us every Fall for the forthcoming Spring. Confirmation is scheduled for May 10, 2025 at 10am. Students should plan to be at church at 9am and remain until nearly noon. Robes are rented by the Parish for the students. The cost is included in the annual Religious Education fee.
