The mission of the Marriage Mentors is to support sacramental marriage within the parish and to promote family values based upon Catholic teachings and principles.  We aim to support engaged and young married couples as they are discerning or beginning their journey together.

To enrich and foster marriages which glorify God and create united families, thriving children, stronger churches, and healthier communities.  We will do this by building community and fellowship within our group. We also want to encourage seasoned married couples to mentor engaged and young married couples.  

The marriage Mentor Group generally meets on the first Friday of each month after the 6 p.m. Mass in the basement of St. John's Church.

Upcoming events:

February 18 - Family Dance! 

We, along with the Lumen Christi Consortium are planning and hosting a dance for the St. John’s Youth Group. The dance will be on February 18th from 6:30 to 10 pm.   This family dance is open to everyone in Marriage Mentor Ministry and is meant to assist us in learning to dance and encourage the young to have fun! Lumen Christi Consortium will call the contra dance, and we will have live and DJ’d music to go along with Waltz and swing dancing. We will have potluck snacks.

We are planning to have offsite babysitting, but we will need sign-up to pre-arrange. We need MMM members' help with setup, breakdown, and 30-minute snack monitors. Please contact Adrianne ([email protected] 617-905-6093) if you can set up or breakdown or if you would like to take advantage of babysitting. We will ask for snack monitors on the day of the dance.  

March 3^rd - March Madness - Games Night and snacks

April 14^th - Easter party potluck 

May 5^th -  Meatballs and movie (movie TBD)

June 2^nd - guest speaker and pizza -  TBD

July/August - parish picnic, Rota Springs get-together social, possibly a group WooSox Game

September 15^th - Beginning again social and potluck dinner
